On This Day in 2010, Sachin Tendulkar (111* v South Africa at Centurion) became the first batsman to score 50 Test Hundreds.

"When I scored my 50th Test century, the first thought that came to my mind was my father. I looked up and told him that this hundred was for him. I scored my 50th Test hundred on December 19 and my father's birthday was a day before, on December 18, and I was desperate to score a century " - SACHIN TENDULKAR
