News To warm the heart, two of cricket’s living legends Courtney Walsh and Sachin Tendulkar will return to Australia for next month’s Bushfire Cricket Bash.
West Indian fast bowler, the first player in Test historyt toclaim 500 wickets, will coach Shane Warne’s led side.
While Indian great Tendulkar, Test cricket’s highest run-scorer (15921), will link up with Ricky Ponting’s side.

The charity match will be the curtain raiser to the Big Bash final on February 8, with the venue yet to be determined.
Both matches, as well as Australia’s women’s T20 match against India at Junction Oval, will be broadcast on Fox Sports.
It’s understood that both Walsh and Tendulkar will be involved in Fox Sports’ coverage throughout the evening too.
Retired Australian cricketers Adam Gilchrist, Brett Lee, Justin Langer, Michael Clarke, Shane Watson and Alex Blackwell will also take part, while former skipper Steve Waugh and former Australian women’s player Mel Jones will also be involved in a non-playing capacity.
“We are absolutely honoured to be welcoming Sachin and Courtney back to Australia where they both enjoyed a lot of success as players, and we can’t wait to have them involved in what is going to be a special day,” Cricket Australia chief Kevin Roberts said.
“Both in the ICC Hall of Fame, Sachin is the greatest run-scorer of all time in international cricket, and we all remember what Courtney could do with the ball, taking more than 500 Test wickets.
“We’re looking forward to our people at CA and the entire Australian cricket family coming together for the Big Appeal.”
Tendulkar ended his career with 18,426 ODI runs at 44.83, and 15,921 Test runs at 52.78.
Walsh took 519 Test wickets at 24.44 and 227 in the ODI arena.
